Due to concerns for safety and security in the NMC (New Media Center) we are restricting after hours access to the facility. 24-hour access will remain available to MCMA faculty and graduate students, but will no longer be offered to undergraduate students except for an occasional and exceptional short-term request supported by a professor. However, we are also extending the hours for the NMC, keeping it open and staffed until 3 AM five days a week--this adds an additional 25 open hours to the past schedule.  
 
Beginning on Tuesday, January 17 (first day of classes) and ending on Friday, May 12 (last day of finals week) the schedule will be as follows:  
 
Monday-Thursday, 7AM-3AM  
Friday, 7AM-6PM  
Saturday, NOON-6PM  
Sunday, NOON-3AM 
 
After Hours 
 
Although the New Media Center is regularly open many hours during the week, we recognize that some individuals may require additional access to the labs and equipment for limited periods of time. If you are a teacher or student in the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts, you are automatically eligible for 24-hour access. Other individuals may apply for 24-hour access that may be granted on a case-by-case basis. 
 
In either case, to apply for access please obtain and complete a request form available at the service desk in the NMC. Your application will be forwarded to the NMC Director for approval. If you are approved, your ID information will be entered into the system and you will be able to use your SIUC ID to access the areas of the NMC that you are authorized to use after regular hours.
