There are two computer classrooms/labs in the New Media Center (Communications rooms 9A and 9E) equipped with teacher/presentation stations, including Mac computers, LCD projectors, SMART Boards, DV decks, DVD/VCR players, and speakers. These rooms can be reserved for classes as well as for special events such as workshops, demonstrations, and proposal/thesis defenses. Maximum seating capacity is 15.
Teachers in the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts may schedule these rooms for classes through the academic advisors in their College units in consultation with the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Clare Mitchell.
Others wishing to schedule classes in the NMC should contact the New Media Center Director and Associate Dean, Gary Kolb. Special events may be scheduled with the NMC Lab Manager, Eric Rowan.

When no classes or special events are scheduled during regular NMC hours, the computers in classrooms/labs are available for use by any member of the university community having a valid SIUC network ID and password. Every attempt is made to leave significant blocks of open time to facilitate access for class assignments and research.
